If you're in a rental, you might be limited in what you can alter at the property. But summer is here, and you're probably feeling like sitting outside, kicking back and enjoying the warm nights. Here are five quick, easy and inexpensive options to transform your patio or outdoor area.
A few strands of inexpensive lights or even a handful of paper lanterns change the air above you, without permanent alterations. All can be found at your local outdoor store, Target/Walmart or even the Dollar Store.
Colorful Gardening Elements:
Make a wall of colorful planters in a uniform pattern, add bright and happy flowers and plants, and you have 'garden art!'
Marble Bead Accents:
Ideally, this works with a large crevice, but smaller cracks work too. These marble beads can be found at the Dollar Store or a local craft store like Michael's or Hobby Lobby. Such a GREAT pop of color on a patio!
What doesn't look better with a coat of paint? Update your old furniture or a flea-market find with some bold colors and your patio will look like new. TIP: certain paint colors might require a primer, ask your local paint store employee.
Outdoor Rug and Accent Pillows:
Just about every store you walk into has outdoor rugs and all-weather pillows for sale. Check out Target, Pier One and Big Lots locally. If you prefer to shop online, our faves are wayfair.com, overstock.com and amazon.com. Both of these items are incredibly reasonably priced because they are such hot ticket purchases. And you won't be sorry, they brighten up a patio SO much!
Have fun this summer transforming your outdoor living space. We can't wait to see what you do!
